Former MP Samvel Farmanyan, responding to PM Nikol Pashinyan’s recent comments, wrote on his Facebook page “Nikol, you did not remove Serzh Sargsyan.”
He states that Sargsyan was removed by powerful national and regional centers—which Pashinyan, from 2018, has consciously served as a blunt instrument against Armenian interests.
He accuses Pashinyan of betrayal for power—handing over Artsakh to Azerbaijan and sacrificing all other Armenian interests to foreign seekers of the highest price.
Farmanyan adds: “Nikol, the Armenian people are also not the creators of 2018. They are its victims — the first and greatest. Deceived and disappointed victims.”
He contends that popular frustration after 30 years of injustice, hardship, war threats, corruption, and ineffective politics was transformed by propaganda into a revolution manipulated by the same major forces—with Pashinyan’s conscious participation and betrayal.
Farmanyan warns Pashinyan that though he may justify himself all day and dream of ruling a millennium, there are two things he cannot change:
- He will remain in the Armenian people’s memory as an exceptional traitor.
- His own patrons will remove him when he becomes worthless and expired.
He concludes: “You know these two unchangeables very well. You know and you are uneasy.”
