Pashinyan: we failed to see how fortunate we were

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan delivered a speech as part of the “Education is Fashionable” initiative, citing the Bible and presenting his vision for the “real Armenia.”

According to Pashinyan, a person’s greatest misfortune is not realizing how happy they truly are.

“This is a powerful message, because our misfortune has been precisely this—we have failed to recognize how happy we are in our relationship with the homeland and the state,” he said, as quoted by 1lurer.am .

To illustrate his point, Pashinyan offered the following analogy:

“Let’s imagine a large virtual scale. On one side, we place a 300,000 square kilometer homeland without an internationally recognized state. On the other, a 29,743 square kilometer homeland with international recognition as a state. Now let’s weigh—which is heavier? To me, the internationally recognized state will always weigh more.”

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is currently on vacation from July 28 to August 15.
