Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a phone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to discuss peace and cooperation.
Pashinyan presented the outcomes of the August 8 negotiations in Washington, emphasizing the “opportunities that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan could bring to the region.”
He underlined that “regional transport routes will operate within the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction, and on a reciprocal basis.”
The prime minister thanked the Iranian president for giving an objective assessment of the Washington agreements and highlighted the importance of Pezeshkian’s upcoming visit to Armenia.
Pezeshkian earlier stated that “this corridor is not what the media has exaggerated about,” adding that “Iran’s demands have been met.”
