According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, on August 11, in line with a previously announced agreement, a joint application and draft decision on the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk process and its related structures was circulated among OSCE member states, Armenpress reports.
The decision to dissolve the Minsk Group structures was made in Washington under the auspices of U.S. President Donald Trump, as part of an agreement between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan aimed at normalizing relations.
The OSCE Minsk Group was established in 1992 to facilitate the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. France welcomed the parties’ call to begin the dissolution process of the group’s structures. Alongside France, the United States and Russia serve as the group’s co-chairs.
