Taron Chakhoyan, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Armenian Prime Minister, responded on Facebook to statements by businessman Samvel Karapetyan — currently under two-month arrest — in which Karapetyan referred to the authorities as a “small group.” Chakhoyan said this so-called “small group” is in fact Armenia’s legitimate government, elected by the people.
According to Chakhoyan, Karapetyan is “trying to seize power in Armenia with several passports.”
“The ‘small group’ mentioned by the Russian billionaire is Armenia’s legitimate government — the result of the people’s choice. He clearly doesn’t care about the opinion of the Electric Networks of Armenia’s subscribers, nor about the will of the people, their choice, and free expression of will. That’s why, with several passports, he is trying to seize power in Armenia and create a puppet administration. In reality, the small group is them — the election riggers who disregard the people’s choice,” Chakhoyan wrote.
Karapetyan has announced that the Our Way movement will soon be presented to the public, stating it was formed around clear ideas and has big plans for Armenia.
