A high-level fire hazard is forecast from August 15 to 19 in the Ararat Valley, foothills of Vayots Dzor, Aragatsotn, and Kotayk, as well as in Yerevan.
Across the country, dry weather is expected on August 15, 18, and 19. On August 16-17, brief afternoon showers and thunderstorms are possible in some regions, with hail in certain areas.
On August 16, daytime temperatures will drop by 2–4°C, followed by a gradual increase of 6–8°C from August 17 to 19.
Winds will blow from the northwest at 2–5 m/s, intensifying during thunderstorms to 17–20 m/s. In the evenings of August 15-16, strong winds of 15–18 m/s are expected in Armavir and the foothills of Kotayk and Aragatsotn.
In Yerevan, dry weather is forecast on August 15, and 17–19. On the evening of August 16, short rain and thunderstorms are possible in parts of the city. Gusts of 14–18 m/s are expected during thunderstorms and in the evening of August 15–16.
