On the occasion of Knowledge and Schooling Day, Armenia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport, Zhanna Andreasyan, delivered a message emphasizing ongoing efforts to ensure a culturally rich and safe educational environment.
“Dear students, teachers, and professors,
Last academic year was declared the year of cultural education, emphasizing creativity and the power of the arts in understanding and exploring the world. We encouraged artistic and cultural education and focused on enriching school events with cultural content. By the end of the year, we saw a notable increase in student visits to museums, theaters, and concert halls—viewed not just as leisure, but as part of the learning process. We launched several initiatives and discussions and together organized a cultural version of the ‘last bell’ celebration. I thank you all for your shared efforts.
Cultural education remains a priority. We look forward to welcoming you to our theaters, concert halls, and museums with new programs and performances. Continuing last year’s tradition, from Independence Day on September 21, you can visit the History Museum of Armenia to view a new joint exhibition with the Louvre.
This academic year has been declared the year of safe and secure education. We’ll address crucial topics, emphasizing the development of healthy, active behavior free from harmful habits. We aim to foster a safer, more inclusive environment for all—students, teachers, professors, and others—by preventing and eliminating any form of violence. We will promote physical activity through events with renowned athletes and learn from their example. We’ll also focus on digital literacy and safety in online spaces, all supported by training, projects, and collaborative work.
There should be no issue we cannot discuss. Our schools must be places students rush to with joy, ready to discover and create. We have a full and active year ahead.
Congratulations and best wishes to all of you—especially to first graders and university freshmen. A new phase begins in your life—one of the brightest and most important.
Learn well to live well.
Happy Knowledge and Schooling Day,” the message concluded.
