On September 3, Armenia’s Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan met with Dafne Maren, head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Armenia, to discuss the rights of prisoners of war, missing persons, and their families.
Manasyan praised the effective cooperation between the ICRC and her office, stressing the importance of the organization’s programs and their continuity.
The sides also addressed programs implemented within the framework of international humanitarian law.
Maren thanked Manasyan for the meeting and reaffirmed the ICRC’s readiness to continue cooperation with Armenia’s Ombudswoman.
On September 3, 2025, Azerbaijan decided to terminate the ICRC’s delegation activities in Baku, announcing that “Azerbaijani authorities themselves will ensure communication between detainees and their families.”
