Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended Expo 2025 in Osaka, where a special event was held marking Armenia’s National Day.
Accompanied by exhibition organizers, Pashinyan toured various pavilions, signed the guestbook of honor, and joined a traditional Japanese tea ceremony with Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan Hisashi Matsumoto and the Armenian delegation.
At the Armenian pavilion, titled “Pillars of today and tomorrow”, visitors were introduced to Armenia’s innovative projects, cultural heritage, investment opportunities, and educational initiatives. Since the exhibition’s opening, the pavilion has welcomed over one million visitors.
During the official ceremony, the national anthems of Armenia and Japan were performed, followed by speeches from Pashinyan and Shigetoshi Ikeyama, Deputy Commissioner General of Expo 2025.
In his remarks, Pashinyan emphasized that World Expos serve as vital platforms for presenting humanity’s latest achievements. Armenia, he noted, was proud to participate for the fifth time, showcasing its history, culture, and technological progress.
The four pillars representing Armenia’s present highlight history, culture, innovation, and regional opportunities, while those symbolizing the future focus on technology and innovative education, including initiatives like TUMO, COAF, Armath, and national projects such as Academic City and Engineering City.
Pashinyan recalled with pride the June 1 opening of a TUMO Center for Creative Technologies in Gunma, Japan, offering 1,500 teenagers access to programming, animation, filmmaking, game design, 3D modeling, drawing, and motion graphics.
Special attention in the pavilion is also given to Armenia’s peace vision, notably the Crossroads of Peace initiative, which envisions open borders, regional cooperation, and conflict resolution through diplomacy and dialogue.
The Armenian pavilion will remain open until October 13.
