Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in a Facebook post, commented on Tokyo’s public smoking ban and lack of street trash bins, asking whether Armenia should follow a similar strategy.
“I noticed the videos about Tokyo’s smoking ban and the absence of public trash bins have gained significant attention. So, what do you say, dear citizens? Should we try to adopt this strategy as well, or not?”
He said that pursuing such a strategy does not mean attempting to reach that point in just one or two years, calling such a timeframe unrealistic.
“Adopting this strategy means aiming to get there in 5 to 10 years. And if we don't succeed even in ten years, we must keep going until we do. But today, we must decide in our minds that we will reach that point—together, as a nation, all of us.”
