Aregnaz Manukyan announced she is stepping down as an MP from the Hayastan faction to join Andranik Tevanian’s Mother Armenia bloc, which is seeking party status.
On Facebook, Manukyan said her decision was driven by her intention to fully align with Mother Armenia, noting that she shares its ideas and has many colleagues there. She called her resignation an act of political and ethical consistency.
She expressed gratitude to former president Robert Kocharyan, leader of the Hayastan alliance, to her ARF colleagues, fellow MPs, and citizens who supported their struggle against what she described as the government’s anti-national policies.
“Our fight for full political change and the establishment of a national government will continue, though each of us may pursue it in different formats,” Manukyan wrote, wishing success to all genuine opposition forces.
