Pashinyan: ruling party proclaims fourth Republic of Armenia

At the 7th congress of the Civil Contract party, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared the party’s proclamation of the Fourth Republic of Armenia as its next strategic mission. He emphasized that the new stage is based on Armenia’s state interests, strengthened sovereignty, lessons of the Third Republic, and the peace established with Azerbaijan, Radar Armenia reports.

According to Armenpress, Pashinyan presented a draft party declaration, which includes the following key commitments:

  • To seek a renewed mandate in the 2026 parliamentary elections for another five years, aiming to form a constitutional majority.
  • Upon securing voter support, to launch a referendum process for adopting a new Constitution.
  • To rely on the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration as the foundation of Armenia’s internationally recognized sovereignty over 29,743 square kilometers and the inviolability of its borders.
  • To intensify efforts toward Armenia’s membership in the European Union, while maintaining a balanced regional and foreign policy.
  • To pursue peace and good neighborly relations with all neighbors, institutionalizing these principles on the basis of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
  • To continue and expand the fight against corruption, including asset recovery through confiscation of illegal property and protection of state and community interests.
  • To advance democratic reforms, strengthen the judiciary and governance transparency, and reinforce democratic institutions.
  • To promote education and labor-driven prosperity, prioritize academic reform and infrastructure renewal, and underscore the systemic role of the Academic City.
  • To encourage inclusive, competitive economic activity, support the regional unblocking process, and advance the Crossroads of Peace project, framing economic growth as a state interest.
