Tigran Abrahamyan, MP from the I Have Honor faction, wrote on Facebook that the report on the 2020 44-day war is now only accessible to individuals with the proper security clearance, despite earlier government statements that part of it would be made public.
He reminded that authorities initially claimed the National Assembly’s inquiry commission would investigate the war and that the public would receive answers to all questions once its work concluded.
“What did the authorities actually do? They violated the commission’s deadlines, then claimed that under current law the report can no longer be presented at a full session of parliament, even though it had previously been announced that part of the report would be public and the rest classified.
“In the end, only a limited number of individuals with access to classified materials can view the report, and even then, under strict non-disclosure conditions,” he wrote.
Abrahamyan added: “The country endured a brutal war, aggression, and massive human and territorial losses. And under these circumstances, those chiefly responsible are hiding the truth while preparing to prolong their hold on power.”
The report from the National Assembly’s inquiry commission on the 44-day war has been sent to the parliamentary archive.
