Papikyan, Colby discuss defense reforms at Pentagon

On October 15, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan met with Elbridge Colby, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense for Policy, at the Pentagon, the ministry reported.

The two sides discussed the current state of Armenia-U.S. defense cooperation and the potential for launching long-term, institutional programs.

Both parties reaffirmed their readiness to deepen their partnership in the defense sector, emphasizing the important role the United States plays in promoting lasting and stable security in the region.

Armenia’s Ambassador to the U.S., Narek Mkrtchyan, also attended the meeting.

On October 14, Papikyan met with Michael Miller, Director of the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency, and reached agreements on new defense initiatives. On October 13, during the AUSA international exhibition, Papikyan toured the pavilions, reviewed military displays, and met with representatives of participating defense companies.
