Օver ֏1.2 billion in assets to be seized from Manvel Grigoryan’s heirs

More than ֏1.2 billion (approx. $3 million) in property and financial assets will be confiscated from the heirs and associates of Lieutenant-General Manvel Grigoryan, following a ruling by Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Court on October 10, 2025.

The lawsuit was initiated by the Prosecutor General’s Office on June 28, 2022, seeking the recovery of illegally acquired assets from the former MP’s estate and related individuals.

Once the decision enters into legal force, the following assets will be seized and transferred to the Republic of Armenia:

  • Real estate in Vagharshapat (Mastots St., Alaverdyan St., Sparapet Vazgen Sargsyan St., Andranik district, Charents 1st district, A. Manukyan district),
  • An unfinished house in Arshaluys village (Armavir Province),
  • A land plot in Arshaluys village (17th Street),
  • A commercial land plot in Hrazdan (Kotayk Province),
  • Vehicles including a MAYBACH, TOYOTA LC 200 4.0, GAZ 22, GAZ 24, GAZ 24-02, and MOSKVICH 407.

Also to be confiscated:

  • A ֏254 million loan claim against a wine and brandy factory,
  • A ֏33 million loan claim to a joint-stock company,
  • About $9,000 in bank deposits,
  • A ֏14.6 million loan claim to another joint-stock company,
  • A ֏4.77 million loan to the “Grigor Lusavorich” University in Etchmiadzin,
  • A 15.95% share in a limited liability company,
  • Bank deposits amounting to ֏14.7 million and $300,
  • ֏224,000 in unsubstantiated expenditures,
  • ֏14.65 million in unlawfully held cash.

The Prosecutor General’s Office plans to appeal the rejected portion of its original claim.

Manvel Grigoryan died on November 20, 2020.
