Georgia hosts Pashinyan for high-level visit

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze held a private meeting in Tbilisi to discuss key issues related to the strategic partnership between the two neighboring countries.

Kobakhidze thanked his Armenian counterpart for accepting the invitation to attend the 5th Silk Road Forum. The leaders emphasized the active political dialogue between Armenia and Georgia and expressed confidence in its continued effectiveness.

They also exchanged views on cooperation in trade, economy, and culture.

The two leaders discussed the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Kobakhidze reiterated his congratulations and expressed hope that peace would give fresh impetus to regional cooperation and stability.

Prime Minister Pashinyan presented updates on the implementation of the TRIPP and “Crossroads of Peace” initiatives, aimed at unblocking regional transport routes.

An official dinner was hosted in Pashinyan’s honor by Kobakhidze.

Writing on the social media platform X, Kobakhidze said: “Before the Silk Road Forum, I had a productive meeting with Nikol Pashinyan. I’m confident it will strengthen cooperation between our countries,” as reported by “Echo of the Caucasus.”

Pashinyan arrived in Tbilisi to take part in the Silk Road Forum, which has been held every two years since its launch in 2015. The fifth forum is centered on the theme: “Invest in Connectivity – Grow in Stability.”

Around 2,000 delegates are expected at the forum, including senior officials, business leaders, international organizations, and experts. Discussions will cover global trade, transport, logistics, Middle Corridor development, energy, digital transformation, and Georgia’s investment climate. Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov is also scheduled to speak.

Two years ago, Asadov and Pashinyan participated in a trilateral meeting with then-Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili.
