Today the National Assembly of Armenia finally approved the entire package of the legislative amendments providing for giving tax and custom facilities to Eduardo Ernekian Argentinean businessman, who is going to assume trust management of “Zvartnots” Yerevan international airport. Ernekian is given the right to conduct any licensed activity on the airport territory and pass the license to any judicial persons. Changes are made in the law on gaming-houses, which let opening a casino on the airport territory. The legislators approved the changes in the Customs Code proposed by the government, which provide for the opportunity of creating a duty free trade zone on the airport territory. Giving such benefits to Ernekian is to give the confessioner the opportunity to get profit from the sources not directly connected with aviation, which is necessary to guarantee the return of the investments made.
