Apple controls more than 90 per cent of expensive computer market

According to NPD Group, Apple controlled 91 per cent of expensive computers’ market in June 2009. NPD regarded as expensive computers costing more than $1000.

As Ernest Mardoyan, Director of Apple in Armenia, told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, over the first quarter of this year the popularity of Apple products decreased by  30 per cent in Armenia. But over the past two months it started to grow, and the increase in sales reached  10 per cent compared since the beginning of the year.

Over the second quarter of 2009 the market share of Apple, according to Gartner, was very low – only 8.7 per cent.  

The average price of computers in retail sales is $ 701, including Windows-based – $515, the Macintosh-based – $1400.
