Armenian consumers will benefit from summer price decrease

Within recent months a tendency towards price slump is registered at Armenian consumer market, connected with seasonal price fluctuations on some consumer goods.

According to National Statistic Service data, a 3% decrease in consumer price index is registered in June-July 2009, with 2.7% index slump in July compared with June results.

In July 2009 food products index (including tobacco and alcoholic beverages) fell by 5.2%, non-food products and services index grew by 0.5% and 0.1% accordingly, compared with June results.

In January-July 2009 average monthly increase of consumer prices comprised 0.3%, which is 0.3% lower than last years results (0.6%).

In July 2009, compared with December 2008, consumer price index comprised 2.4%, including food products prices (including tobacco and alcoholic beverages) -97.7%, non-food products prices -9.6% and services – 7.4%.

In July 2009, compared with July 2008, consumer price index comprised 3.1%, including food products prices (including tobacco and alcoholic beverages) -99%, non-food products prices -4.6%, and services – 9.7%. Consumer price index for January-July 2009 compared with January-July 2008 results was fixed at 2.7%, 99.2% and 10% accordingly.
