ARMENIAN APOSTOLIC CHURCH JOINED THE CALL ON OLYMPIC TRUCE

The Armenian Apostolic Church has joined the call on a truce for the period of the winter Olympic games 2002. Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II put his signature under the call in the course of the meeting with Greek Parliament deputy Kala Zaki. “Arminfo” agency reports Kala Zaki informed the Catholicos that her mission was to call on the leaders of states, non-governmental and political organizations to truce in the course of the Olympic games. Some 50 high rank religious figures have already signed the document. “I welcome all calls directed toward establishing peace. This covenant is constantly repeated in the Armenian Church,” – the Armenian Apostolic Church leader said.
