Baku State Publishing House “Azerbaijan” refused to print “Muhalifyat” newspaper breaching the contract concluded with the editorship. There is an unofficial censorship in the montage department of the publishing house, the main task of which is “re-juvenescence” of Heydar Aliyev’s photographs. Thus “the censors” have tried to do the same in “Muhalifyat” and to replace the photos of Heydar Aliyev and his brother Jalal by those made 10-15 years before. But having met the refusal of the editorial staff, the publishing house employees declined to print the newspaper. As reported by “Turan” agency, the newspaper staff intends to go on a one-day strike and to impose picket as a sign of protest against such arbitrariness today.
