ROBERT NAZARIAN: ARMENIA CONSIDERING RELATIONS WITH TURKEY IN PROSPECT

Armenia is considering the relations with all the countries, including Turkey, in prospect. Mayor of Yerevan Robert Nazarian stated this after the meeting with Mayor of Istanbul Ali Mufta Gyurtun. “But turning over the heavy pages of the history is necessary for creating the future relations,” – Yerevan Mayor stressed. As it was reported to “Arka” agency in the Department for Public Relations of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Armenia, R.Nazarian noted in this connection Armenia highly appreciated the French Senate passing legislation condemning Armenian genocide in the Ottoman empire, which could serve as an example for other countries. Speaker of the French Parliament Christian Poncelet came out as the initiator of the meeting. In the course of the meeting the opportunities of not centralized cooperation between Yerevan and Istanbul were discussed.
