The International AIDS Memorial Day will be marked across the world on May 16.
A series of events will be organized in Yerevan to commemorate victims of this plague of the 20th century. Specifically, the UN Population Fund will organize a thematic exhibition in the Lovers’ Park of Yerevan. In its turn, the Armenian Red Cross Society will hold a candlelight memorial.
This day was first marked in San Francisco (U.S.) in 1983. Now it is marked every year on the 3rd Sunday of May.
