PACE PRESIDENT LORD RUSSEL-JOHNSTON WILL APPEAR AT THE ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT SESSION OPENING

Today regular autumn session of the National Assembly of Armenia will commence. CE Parliamentary Assembly President Lord Russell-Johnston will appear at the session opening. In course of PACE President’s visit to Yerevan, which will continue till September 12, the process of fulfilling the obligations undertaken by Armenia when joining CE, will be presented to him. In the words of Speaker of the Parliament Armen Khachatrian, the matter of the statement made by the Council of Europe leadership on the eve of local government elections held in Karabakh, will be concerned during the talks. The Armenian Parliamentarians intend to argue in favour of the fact that the statement did not have objective grounds and did not promote strengthening confidence in CE.
