Russia is interested in settlement of the Karabakh conflict both as a mediator and a country supporting friendly relations both with Armenia and Azerbaijan. Today Russian Defense Minister Sergey Ivanov stated it at a press conference on the results of the talks with Defense Minister of Azerbaijan Safar Abiev. “We are ready to seek ways of conflict settlement patiently, not thrusting our opinion on the partners,” – Ivanov noted. Minister emphasized that settlement of the conflict should first of all rest on understanding between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
