AGREEMENT ON THE IRAN-ARMENIA GAS PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION HAS BEEN ALREADY REACHED

The preliminary agreement on Iran-Armenia gas pipeline construction has been already reached. As “Arka” agency informs, the technical problems have to be solved and it will be possible to implement the project. According to Karen Galustyan, now the works with Iran and Turkmen sides are conducted. It should be reminded that besides Armenian and Iranian sides, their interests in the project participation French Company “Gaze De France”, international group of “ITERA” companies and Greece gas corporation have confirmed. The project stipulates 100-kilometer gas pipeline construction across Iran’s territory and 41 kilometers across Armenia’s territory. 1.5 the pipeline daily will transport million cubic meters of gas. The intergovernmental agreement for Iran-Armenia gas pipeline constructing was signed in 1992. The prospective value of gas pipeline is about $96 million and the initial project rating is billion cubic meters a year.
