WILL THE AIRSPACE OF NKR BE USED?

Today at a press conference in Yerevan Chairman of the European Civil Aviation Conference Alfredo Roma reported that the question of using the airspace of Nagorny Karabakh would be discussed at ECAC session in Paris in October 2001. The matters of Armenia joining the European Council of Ministers of Transport and membership of Azerbaijan in ECAC will be considered. He also said that the meeting of representatives of civil aviation of Armenia and Azerbaijan as well as the authorities of Nagorny Karabakh would be held in Paris. “Establishment of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan in this sphere will contribute to development of economic cooperation in the region,” – A.Roma said. He noted that Azerbaijan has not still expressed its official position on the matter of using the airspace of NKR. A.Roma considers that the safety of flights over NKR territory should be secured first of all.
