Private remittances to Armenia decrease by 5,3% in January-August 2010

USD942,7 mln was transferred to individuals through the Armenian banking system in January-August 2010. According to the CBA monthly bulletin, 5,3% or USD52,7 mln slump was reported as compared with the same period of last year.

Meanwhile, Russia keeps the biggest share of remittances to Armenia – USD638,8 mln, followed by the U.S. – $79,9 mln and UAE – $16,6 mln. The amount of remittances from Turkey totaled USD1595 thousand.

Besides, the amount of remittances from Armenia totaled USD441,8 mln in January-August 2010 decreasing by 0,5% as compared with the same period of last year.

During the reported period, the net cash inflow decreased by 9.2% amounting to USD500,9mln against USD551,4 mln in January-August 2009.
