Nare Aramyan: Armenia has no legislation on rearing of dogs

Armenia has no legislation either on stray dogs or rearing of pedigree dogs, according to the head of Pro Paws charity union Nare Aramyan.

“Anyone in Armenia can get himself any type of a dog, be it a patrol, combat or a hunting dog, and rear it in any conditions by procuring permission for Euro 10 000. The same sum is paid as a fine in case of animal-related incidents,” Ms. Aramyan said at Yerevan-Moscow-Tbilisi TV spacebridge, urging for adoption of relevant legislation in Armenia.

“Don’t be afraid of combat dogs, beware of their masters,” the member of Russia Cynological Federation Mikhail Kirillov noted, advising to procure the basic information on the rearing and training of the dog, before getting a pet.
