THE EUROPEAN COUNCIL IS AGAINST THE DEATH PENALTY AND DOES NOT ACCEPT ANY EXCEPTIONS WITH THIS QUESTION

Today Paola Andrea Trabaltsa, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy in Armenia, also representing the European Union has claimed, “The European Union and the European Council countries are strongly against the practice of the death penalty”. According to his words, exceptions are out of the question. The Ambassador has pointed out that in Italy was committed a terrorist act similar to the one taken place in the Armenian parliament in October, 1999. Trabaltsa has mentioned that the question of the death penalty of the criminals has not been discussed. “There is not a place for the death penalty in civilized society”, has stated the Ambassador of Italy.
