. Azerbaijan is ready to fulfill the obligations assumed at the European council entering. Heidar Aliyev, the president of Azerbaijan has stated that at the negotiations with the European Council mission, headed by Pyetro Ago, the ambassador of Italy. As “CNA” agency informs the head of the country has especially pointed out that he thinks the statement about having political prisoners is not valid. Despite that Aliev expresses his readiness to review the cases of a number of people, “who are political prisoners, as the opposition states”. The group members have succeeded to meet some prisoners in Baku.
At the meeting with Wilayat Giliev, P.Ago has been promised that in September the law on the media functioning would be reviewed. It should be reminded that till 19, July, the monitoring mission of the European Council on Azerbaijan and Armenia must present the report about the fulfillment of the obligations to EC by Armenia and Azerbaijan.
