. Yerevan press club has resumed the preliminary results of the sociological research on attitudes of the Armenian audience towards the local mass media. According to the data published, 40% of respondents stated that they do not read social-political newspapers, 28,5% prefer reading “Aravot” newspaper, 19,6% – “Azg”, 16% – “Hayots Ashkhar”, 12,4% – “Haykakan Zhamanak”, 11,6% – “Golos Armenii”. “Iravunk”, “Hayastani Hanrapetutyun”, “Novoye Vremya”, “Yerkir” and others follow them significantly lagging behind the leading five. It is noticeable that the distribution solely in Yerevan is a little different: 18,8% read “Aravot”, 18,8% – “Golos Armenii”, 12,3% – “Azg”, 10,3% – “Hayots Ashkhar”, 9% – “Haykakan Zhamanak”.
The Public Television is the leader among TV companies. 66% of interviewees throughout the country give their preference to it and 63% prefer “Prometheus”. 33% of televiewers watch ORT, 31% – RTR, 20% – NTV. “Armenia”(14%), “Cinemax”(11,3%), “A1+”(11,3%) and others follow them noticeably lagging behind the leaders.
