. Today six out of thirteen accused of the terrorist act in the Parliament, which took place on October 27, 1999,were granted an amnesty and discharged right in the court-room. Henceforth they will all take part in the process as witnesses. The amnesty announced by the Parliament on the President’s initiative coincided with celebration of the 1700-th anniversary of adoption of Christianity in Armenia. It spread on 1200 prisoners: accused or alleged offenders.
In case of the concerned with the case of “October 27” the amnesty spread on the officers of domestic affairs A.Minasian and A.Gasparian accused of carelessness, M.Mkrtchian, S.Etimian and S.Khlechian accused of illegal carrying of arms, and A.Arutyunian accused of failing to make a report on the crime.
