. Most of 4300 motor and railroad bridges in Armenia need reconstruction. They have not undergone preventive repairs for over ten years. According to the information given by “Armenpress”, in 2002-2004 it is planned to perform works on strengthening 85 bridges, 38 of which have Republican significance. The program of reconstruction of the bridges, which is evaluated to cost almost 4 milliard drams is submitted for confirmation by the Government.
