VivaCell-MTS announces Wi-Fi Hotspot pilot launch

VivaCell-MTS has announced the pilot launch of its Wi-Fi Hotspot service across four key zones in Yerevan.

At the initial trial stage everyone who has a Wi-Fi-laptop or Internet-capable gadget with embedded wireless module (any Smartphone or Wi-Fi enabled mobile handsets), will be given free and unrestricted access to Internet within the Wi-Fi hot spot areas: Armenian State Economic University, Armenian Pedagogical University, areas adjacent to the Opera House, Armenian Public Library, the company’s press office reported.

One needs to find the Wi-Fi network named VivaCell-MTS and connect to it to get free wireless access to Wi-Fi internet for 2 months.

Bundling wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) and services provided through Wide Area Networks (WANs), such as HSPA-based 3.5G and 3G networks, with its base stations supporting both 802.11b and 802.11g standards.
