FOUR FOREIGN COMPANIES PRETEND TO “ARARATCEMENT”

. The session of the contest commission on privatization of strategic enterprises of Armenia, planned for tomorrow, was carried over June 18. In particular, the question of privatization of 100% of the stocks of “Araratcement” State Close Corporation had been on the agenda. The deadline for submitting applications has expired today. Four foreign companies contend for the right to become its exclusive owner: Ajikawo (UK), Holsim (Switzerland), Seament (Lebanon) and Titan Cement (Greece). The staff of the factory has submitted an application,too.
According to the information of “Arka” agency, “Araratcement” is the first-rate producer of concrete building materials in the Caucasus. The assessed value of the main equipment of the plant is 2.2 million dollars. The factory is able to produce up to 1.5 million tons of cement a year. At present the annual production volume is 200-250 thousand tons.
