Reduced number of read accidents, victims and injuries reported in 2010

The head of Armenian Police road patrol service Norik Sargsyan announced the road accidents statistics for January-November 2010.

“1813 road accidents resulting in deaths of 258 and injuries of 2647 were reported in January-November 2010. As compared with 2009, the number of accidents dropped by 1, the number of victims by 34 and injuries by 54. 188 accidents and 32 victims were reported in December 2009,” Sargsyan stated.

As he assured, in December 2010, road police will take best efforts to reduce the number of accidents.

In 2010, 65618 drivers (10 %) were fined for violation of stopping regulations, as well as 20500 pedestrians and 289 drivers who failed to make way for the passengers.
