YEREVAN, June 1. /Mediamax/. Armenian President Robert Kocharian stated today that the military cooperation of Armenia and Russia is a regional stability factor and isn’t directed against third countries.
Armenian President told the special correspondent of the Prime News in Minsk that Russian-Armenian military cooperation “is connected with new geopolitical situation in Caucasus and allows a newly independent state to pass the period of formation conservatively and will low risk.”
According to him, the newly independent states are trying to determine their political and military priorities and “it is clear that certain changes must occur”. “The more conservatively it is being done, the better for the region,” Armenian President said.
Robert Kocharian discussed the situation in the region with Georgian President Eduard Shevarnadze Friday in Minsk where the summit of leaders of CIS member-countries was being held. –0–
