YEREVAN, May 25. /Mediamax/. President of Russia Vladimir Putin said today in Yerevan that if it weren’t Russia’s consistent steps, aimed at the achievement of peace in the region, in such a complicated issue as the Karabakh problem in particular, the other two Co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group would hardly have the opportunity to make optimistic statements about the soonest settlement of the conflict.
As the correspondent of Mediamax reports, Russian President said this at the press conference following the meeting of the leaders of CST member-states, which came to an end today.
“Our intermediary efforts have much activated recently and the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, with whom we are in constant contact, are aware of this. This was what significantly made the meetings of the two presidents in Europe and the USA possible. We are going to intensify and coordinate our efforts in the future as well with all the sides of the peace process within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group”, Vladimir Putin said. –0–
