SITUATION IN CAUCASUS WAS NOT DISCUSSED AT THE MEETING OF FOREIGN AND DEFENSE MINISTERS OF CST MEMBER-COUNTRIES

YEREVAN, May 25. /Mediamax/. Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov stated that situation in Caucasus and the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty issues were not discussed at the meeting of Foreign and Defense Ministers of member-countries of Collective Security Treaty (CST) held today in Yerevan.
Mediamax’s correspondent informs that Ivanov has said situation in Central Asia and creation of collective forces of rapid reaction were the top priority issues of the meeting. According to Ivanov, creation of rapid reaction forces for the countries of the region is very important taking into account the real threat from Afghanistan.
Besides, Ivanov said, international problems were discussed. In particular, he informed the participants of the session about his recent contacts in the USA directed to preparation of the meeting of Russian and U.S. Presidents. –0–
