YEREVAN, May 24. /Mediamax/. Robert Kocharian will brief Russian President Vladimir Putin his appraisal on results of his recent talks on Karabakh settlement in Florida, presidential administration deputy Chief Sergei Prikhodko said.
High-ranking sources in Russian Foreign Ministry told ITAR-TASS Russia plays an active role in settlement. However, Moscow is not going “to thrust this in the foreground”. Russia as a co-chairman of the Minsk group has taken “great efforts to lead the negotiation process out of the impasse into which it was heading”, and very “intensive work is going on with permanent contact with both sides”.
Putin’s conversation with Armenian President Robert Kocharian on Thursday will address bilateral relations and economic cooperation. The Russian delegation does not rule out that the Armenian side would make several requests concerning the two countries’ economic cooperation.
President of Russia will arrive in Yerevan today to participate in the session of leaders of member-countries of Collective Security Agreement. The meeting of Putin and Kocharian is expected at 17.00 local time. –0–
