YEREVAN, May 24. /Mediamax/. The World Bank promises to provide additional funds to Armenia and Azerbaijan in case of successful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
RIA Novosti informed that the WB expert for Armenia Peter Nikolas stated that if a peace agreement was concluded, Armenia and Azerbaijan would be provided with additional resources aimed at post-war reconstruction.
The WB board of directors approved on May 22 the bank’s new strategy on cooperation with Armenia, which stipulated additional financing in case if the Karabakh conflict was settled. The settlement will further bank’s more involvement in cooperation with Armenia and will improve the investment climate in the region, the WB representative has noted. –0–
