YEREVAN, May 23. /Mediamax/. The National Assembly of Armenia approved today the project to set up a temporary parliamentary commission to reveal possible violations of the law-enforcement bodies that guard the accused of the 27 October 1999 terrorist act in the parliament. 89 parliamentarians voted for this decision.
According to the document submitted today, 3 deputies from “Unity” faction, which has the majority in the parliament, and 1 representative of each faction and deputy group will be included in the commission.
The commission will work for 6 months during which its members will have the right to visit the jails where the accused are kept, to get acquainted with the materials of the criminal case, to get necessary explanations from the law-enforcement bodies guarding the terrorists, etc. –0–
