YEREVAN, May 23. /Mediamax/. The National Assembly of Armenia discusses today the draft on formation of a parliament commission to reveal the possible violations made by law-enforcement bodies guarding the persons accused of terrorist act in parliament on October 27, 1999.
The initiative of deputies of the Armenian People’s Party on holding an extraordinary session was supported by the faction of the Communist party and “Hayastan” group. According to the document submitted today, 3 deputies from the “Unity” faction and 1 representative of each faction and deputy group are suggested to be included in the commission.
It is supposed that the commission will work for 6 months during which its members will have the right to visit the jails where the accused are kept, to get aquatinted with the materials of the criminal case, to speak with the law-enforcement bodies guarding the accused.
