MANY WORLD LEADERS HAVE PAID FOR PEACE WITH THEIR LIVES, CAREY CAVANAUGH SAYS

YEREVAN, May 21. /Mediamax/. Mediators say the next round of Nagorno Karabakh peace talks, scheduled to take place in Geneva in mid-June, would be postponed while the two presidents prepare the ground at home.
In this regard the Reuters quotes the American co-chair of the OSCE Minsk group Carey Cavanaugh saying: “Making concessions for peace is a dangerous game. Many world leaders have paid for it with their lives”.
“We are trying to make it a win-win solution,” said one diplomat involved in the negotiations under the auspices of the OSCE. “The problem is that that idea is anathema to the mentality of this region where people think if you win, the other side must lose.” –0–
