LEADERS OF ARMENIA AND AZERBAIJAN ARE MORE READY FOR COMPROMISES THAN THEIR PEOPLE, AMERICAN MEDIATOR SAID

YEREVAN, May 21. /Mediamax/. The heads of Armenia and Azerbaijan are more ready for compromises than their people, the U.S. Co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group, Carey Cavanaugh said today in Yerevan after the meeting with Armenian President Robert Kocharian.
Cavanaugh said the mediators told the president about the meetings that took place in Baku, Stepanakert, Shushi, Gyumri and Spitak. The U.S. mediator noted that during that visit the co-chairmen “traveled in Armenia, Karabakh and Azerbaijan” more than ever. We told President Kocharian that we met with a lot of people who want peace, Cavanaugh said. “We told the president our concern about the fact that we didn’t hear common Armenian and Azeri people speak about the necessity for compromises”, Carey Cavanaugh stressed. –0–
