FIRST STAGE OF IRAN-ARMENIA GAS PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION TO START IN THIRD DECADE OF DECEMBER

YEREVAN, May 18. /Mediamax/. The first stage of the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline construction will start in the third decade of December 2001, the “List of arrangements on realization of government working program for 2001” spread today in Yerevan says.
It is noted in the document that in the first stage it is planned “to increase the safety of gas supply, form a competitive atmosphere and in prospect to provide transit means to the gas supply system of Armenia”.
As sources for financing the first stage “credit, private and other resources” are named. –0–
