SALES VOLUME OF YEREVAN BRANDY FACTORY INCREASED BY 183 PERCENT

YEREVAN, May 18. /Mediamax/. During the 4 months of 2001, sales volume of the Yerevan Brandy Factory (YBF) increased by 183% making 1 million 65 thousand liters, as compared with the same period last year.
YBF President Pierre Laretche told this today in an interview to “Hayastani Hanrapetutiun” paper. He noted that before the factory was purchased by Pernod Ricard company, only 1 million liters of brandy was being sold per year. While the factory’s administration plans to sell 3 million liters of brandy during 2001.
Lareche said that the main outlet is Russia, where 75% of the company’s production is being sold. The sales volume has twice increased in Belarus and Ukraine markets in 2001. Besides, Lareche says, YBF enters new markets: Germany, France, and Finland. He stressed that as compared with last year, the sales volume of brandy in Armenia has increased by 80%.
The Yerevan Brandy Factory was purchased by the French Pernod Ricard company in June 1998 for $30 million. –0–
