Member of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun parliamentary group Artsvik Minasyan labeled the inflation suppression model, which is currently applied in Armenia, as inefficient.
It is related not only to the structure of Armenia’s economy, but also to the government’s policy pursued on the matter, Minasyan told a press conference in Yerevan.
Referring to activity of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), Minasyan said that the CBA will not be capable of implementing the important changes in inflation regulation through the current policy.
According to him, the RA government and Central Bank of Armenia should take certain actions to suppress inflation, specifically, the customs and tax systems of the country should be reviewed.
