LEADER OF PARLIAMENTARY MAJORITY NAMED “SET TOO HIGH” THE LEVEL OF CONFIDENTIALITY OF KARABAKH TALKS

YEREVAN, May 15. /Mediamax/. Head of the parliamentary faction “Unity”, Galust Sahakian voiced his perplexity with the fact that today’s enlarged meeting of the permanent commission of the National Assembly of Armenia for foreign affairs was held in a closed regime.
Leader of the parliamentary majority told Mediamax that nothing new was said at the meeting in which Foreign Minister of Armenia took part. In Sahakian’s opinion, this is “quite natural”. Sahakian noted that in the Karabakh peace process the status of Nagorno Karabakh should be resolved first of all. The continuation of the negotiation process will be possible only after that, the Armenian parliamentarian said.
The head of “Unity” faction expressed the opinion that the level of confidentiality of the peace process is set too high. However, Galust Sahakian noted, the disclosure of all the details at this stage can do much harm to the national interests of Armenia. –0–
